Dale Earnhardt Jr. began racing in 1991 on the Concord asphalt track in the Street Stock Division. After competing in the Nascar Late Model Stock Car class, Dale Jr moved up to the Busch series. In the Busch series, Dale Jr drove one race in 1996 and eight races in 1997. Dale Earnhardt Jr won back-to-back Busch Championships in 1998 and 1999. In 2000, Dale Jr began driving in the Nascar Cup series with Budweiser and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. support. That season, driving as a rookie, Dale Earnhardt Jr. started on the pole twice and won races at Texas, Richmond, and the Charlotte All-star competition.
