The Rag Fur Jacket is flattering, it's "furry," and it FITS! The pattern comes XXS to XXXL. There are just four easy-to-cut-out pieces: back, front, neckband, and cuffs. That's it! Adjust for sleeve length and start sewing. These are best made with those beautiful tightly-woven batiks and hand-painted fabrics from Hoffman California Fabrics. I highly recommend the scissors below for this project. They're the best I've found. "Regular" scissors will break your fingers right off! * Take measurements over clothing. Use whichever measurement is larger. Sleeve length can be adjusted.
**Based on 44/45" width fabric with less than 2% shrinkage. Fringe fabric MUST be tightly woven 100% cotton with equal color saturation on both "right" and "wrong" sides, such as batiks and Bali handpaints by Hoffman California Fabrics. Fabric for jacket base may be any quilting weight cotton or blend. Jacket base can also be made from fringe fabric. The jacket I'm wearing on the pattern cover was made with about 20 different fabrics. Jennie's black Rag Fur Jacket was made with the same Hoffman fabric throughout, as were the other three jackets in the inset picture. |
