Nardone and Lisa LoGrasso lead a small team here at ShopInPrivate.
Tom, a former business planning analyst and Lisa, a marketing specialist are best friends who have found success in this business. Together they have developed the idea for this
business. Tom, Pam, Shawn, and Quincy handle much of the day-to-day operations such as
filling orders, editing the website, gathering product information, answering the phones,
chasing down stock, and
making sure our customers are happy. What do we consist
of?: We are a small business, about the size of
a local pharmacy.
We now own a fairly respectable warehouse space in a low-rent area.
In total, we occupy about 5,000 square feet. Our low cost location has allowed us to
thrive as a small player in a tough industry. The warehouse is where we do all of our packing and shipping.
It also acts as our photo and video studio. We are,
in every sense of the word, a small business. We are also very
efficient. Approximate 95% of our orders are shipped within 24 hours
of receipt. We really are
doing everything we can to make our customers happy. Where are we located?:
We are located in Hazel Park Michigan. When did we start?:
We started our business in August of 1998. That makes us veterans of the internet economy.
In the short time we have been serving customers, we feel we have
created a lot of good will. Although we don't really expect our
customers to mention us to their friends, we do have a significant
number of repeat orders. I suppose that speaks well for us. What does the future hold for
ShopInPrivate.com?: We are trying hard to market
the site in an efficient manner. Each month we generate more sales and we
continue to spend more on marketing the site. We now run advertisements in
magazines like Glamour, Mademoiselle, Shape, The Advocate, Out, and others.
Once in a while we are mentioned in magazine, newspaper, and online articles.
We are especially thankful when this occurs because it allows us the opportunity
to reach new customers. We are hopeful that this marketing effort can let consumers know that we are a good
resource. We offer products people need and want, but would prefer
to buy in private. Our vision of the future includes having
everyone know that their secret is safe with
