However, with their counterparts in the main Burgundy area being wildly popular, this quaint region has been overlooked for far too long. Now with prices of white Burgundies spiraling out of control, the Maconnais is stepping up with quality Chardonnay at reasonable prices. Collin Bourisset keeps with the tradition of this old region but using very little, if any, oak in their whites. Almost clear in color with the freshness of a Sauvignon Blanc or a fine Riesling, their Macon Fuisse is a light and refreshing wine chock full of tropical fruit that is a perfect compliment to shellfish.
