Located in the sleepy hamlet of Annunziata where in the 1700's Pope Pio VII blessed the land as having "Good skies and good wine," current owner Giuseppe has completely updated the winery's facilities. A single vineyard wine, the Vigna Parocco comes from vines that are over 30 years old. Fermentation for this wine lasted about 6-8 days, which is longer than most Barbera. 15 months in French oak barrels and another year in bottle before release gave this wine an ample nose of ripe red fruit and earthy tones. The oak aging has softened this wine to create a silky palate with balanced acidity and a fantastic caramel finish. Try this Barbera with traditional Piemonte dishes like risotto with mushrooms or truffles and pastas with rich sauces. BAP03 BAP03
