A new vintage of the terrific Baldassarre from Tenuta Torciano. This magnificent blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot(1/3 each) comes to us from Pierluigi Giachi! Aged in chestnut and oak barrels, this Italian red wine achieves incredible balance between rich plummy fruit and measured hints of the wood. These special Tuscan 'blends' do not conform to the local requirements for the various appellations(Chianti, etc.). They may not be classified as DOC wines, but they have received a special category of 'Indicazione Geografica Tipica', which replaces their 'Table Wine' designation. BAL98 BAL98
